Nextron Announces Strategic Alliance with UK Firm

October 8, 2003 - Nextron Corporation (TSX Venture: NXT) announced today that it has formed a strategic alliance with Heat Trace Ltd. (UK) to offer Canadian customers leading edge heat trace cable along with Nextron's popular advanced heat trace control products.

Heat Trace Canada Ltd.
Nextron has concluded an agreement with Heat Trace Ltd. (UK) to form a private Alberta company, Heat Trace Canada Ltd. (HTCL), with share ownership 80% Nextron and 20% Heat Trace Ltd. HTCL will have the exclusive distribution rights in Canada for Heat Trace Ltd. products and will also distribute Nextron control products in Canada. HTCL will distribute these products through direct sales and agents/distributors. HTCL will be based in Calgary at Nextron's manufacturing facility.

With the above synergistic arrangement, HTCL will be able to participate in the Canadian market (estimated at $30 million a year) with a complete range of electrical heat trace cables, installation accessories, and temperature control and monitoring devices. Heat Trace Canada's initial objective is to focus on industrial applications. As the company progresses, commercial and residential applications will be added to the sales strategy thereby increasing revenue potential.

Heat Trace Ltd.
Heat Trace Ltd. (principal of the Heat Trace Group) is a private company based in Manchester, UK, that has been supplying heat trace cables and accessories to world markets since 1974. Heat Trace products are based on an innovative concept that provides a wide range of heat trace cables, each with its own unique features and benefits for the end user.

The Heat Trace Group has become one of the world's leading suppliers of heat tracing systems. In addition to providing product, high quality design and engineering facilities are available at globally located design centres. Together with the manufacture of a comprehensive and complete product range, their worldwide installation and commissioning service provides assistance on complete or partial turnkey projects.

Nextron Corporation
